The Tour Tempo Micro Player is a great training aid to help you build that buttery smooth golf swing you have always wanted.

Welcome back Rotary Swing Golfers.

I'm RST instructor Chris Tyler.

I'm really pleased to bring to you guys a brand new training aid that's for sale in our store as of now, called the Tour Tempo.

Now, this is a training aid that's going to change the way that you work on your tempo in your golf swing forever.

So both Chuck and I have had a chance to try this item out ourselves.

And we've actually been able to use it with some of our students and we've been able to have some remarkable success.

But not only our own golf swings, but with the students as well.

And that's why we're so pleased to bring it to you today.

So the way it works is it's going to hook to your ear, it's got an adjustable earpiece, and it's got four settings for a full swing.

Okay, they're going to be an 18 to 6, 21 7, 24 8 and 27 9.

What you're going to notice is that all those ratios are a three to one ratio.

Now why is it a three to one ratio Chris?

Well, if you look at the golf swing, the the backswing is going to take right around three times longer than your downswing.

And why is there different tempo settings?

Well, because everybody's tempo is going to be a little bit different, doesn't mean that it's a bad thing.

I have a very fast tempo golf swing doesn't necessarily mean that that's a bad thing.

We always look at these really smooth, effortless golf swings and we think that those are the ones that we want to mirror.

Some of those faster swings out there can be just as productive believe it or not.

The point is is that we want to be consistent and that's what this device is going to do.

So I'm going to get the way this works now.

And you're probably going to be able to hear the tone through the microphone here in just a moment.

Okay so I've got it in my ear.

I've got the faster tempo pace picked up.

Okay I'm going to try to get my backswing started on the first tone.

Okay once I get it all synced up here.

So if you've been looking for a solution to build that perfect tempo in your golf swing or even your short game then I encourage you all to take advantage of

I still have a hard time slowing down my swing speed and maintaining good tempo. I'm wired to go fast and it comes out in my swing. Usually with bad results. I slow down, I hit the ball well. What kind of swing thought or trick can I use to get a slow, smooth swing?

Hello Larry. There isn't a swing thought or tip that works for everyone on slowing down tempo. However, I try to look at it from a speed point of view. You only have one speed burst in the golf swing. You don't want it in the backswing, or the transition. You want it just before impact. The swing isn't long enough time wise to have multiple. If you want to hit the ball well and far. You have to crack the whip at the proper time. And, usually that feeling is much later for players than they actually think.

Is this no longer available via rotary swing? Also, what are the pros vs cons of using this device compared to the iPhone app?

Hello Stephen. It is still available. I haven't used many of the Iphone apps. It would be hard to give a fair comparison. I apologize. Here is the link. https://www.rotaryswing.com/golf-lessons-blog/product/tour-tempo-micro-trainer/

Is this something you recommend we practice with every time we're at the range or putting green?

Hello Brandon. Camera or mirror for the range. No matter how much we trust feel. Feel and real are often two different things when making a swing change. A lot of players have used the "Tiger" Gate Drill for years. He just made it popular on the putting green. Nevertheless, I have used it and other players have for decades.

Chris, thanks, yes read the book and listened to the CD. Are you suggesting I have to film my swing and count frames as they did to determine if I'm at 3:1 on my existing swing? OR alternately, how would we pick a ratio to swing at, maybe I should be asking them?? Rob

I wasn't suggesting anything. I was asking what sort of results or data you were getting when trying out the different ratios. I'm a data guy and I want see what sort of swing data comes up with each of the tempos. I would think its best to use some trial and error at this point but to use the data from each of the tempos and let me know what comes up.

What's the best way to collect data without a trackman or flightscope?

Hey Brandon, there are lots of data tools out there these days. However, there are just a few that track really important data correctly. Trackman and Flightscope track path, face to path and angle of attack, better than a lot of the other less costly devices out there. It is more about what sort of data is important to you when working on your game.

Have you read their book by chance? What results were you getting on 21/7 and 24/8?

Hi Chris, I got the Tour Tempo Micro Player but I struggle keeping it in my ear, so I will be returning. I liked the tool, so I downloaded the iPhone App for less than $25. Much better tool as it has lot more choice like voice rather than beep plus much much more. Overall, it is helping my tempo and eliminating swing thoughts. Just trigger and go! Amazing really. Thanks for the recommendation, but I just wanted to share my comments for those interested in getting this great tool. Hope all is well Bernie B. Cleveland, OH

Hi Chris. I posted a comment on your Jamie Donaldson downswing sequence review the other day. For some reason the entire video has disappeared from the sight ever since. I posted this a few days ago and Craig responded that he would contact customer service?? Any new info on this analysis - I did find it on You-tube but with comment options? I really thought it was a great analysis and was hoping to have it as a reference. Thanks.
