Learn how to tighten up your golf swing like this RST student in a matter of minutes with this simple tip. Start hitting more fairways and greens today.
- Shift your weight to the trail side to start the golf swing.
- Maintain you trail leg knee flex to stabilize the hips and shorten your swing.
Hi everyone, this is RST instructor Chris Tyler.
Have you been struggling with consistency?
Have you been struggling hitting a lot of greens and regulation?
That's a frustrating thing for sure.
And one of the things that I want to show you guys in today's video is how we can start to make your golf swing more consistent.
And also be able to maintain the same clubhead speed from a shorter and more controlled environment.
I want to introduce you guys to Michael.
Now, Michael is a student here at Rotary Swing and you can see over here on the left-hand side of the screen.
This was his swing at the start of the session and over here, in just a matter of minutes, we were able to shorten and tighten his golf swing up.
With one really critical focus point that we'll go over today.
And that's really kind of.
The main goal is that we want to make sure that we're extracting any sort of major timing variables in the golf swing so that the golf swing does the same thing from one day to the next.
And Michael's been through pretty much every methodology out there.
He's read tons of magazines and really never gotten a good clear explanation as how is he going to make his golf swing more consistent and still also be able to maintain his speed at the same time.
So what?
Our focus points were to be able to shorten this golf swing up, and I know these aren't full swings at this point, but this is a work in progress.
But your focus point?
If you've noticed that your golf swing is getting longer and more out of control, I want you to pay attention over here on the left hand side of the screen.
You get right to the top of the swing here.
And I'm going to point out these areas so that you can focus on getting yourself into a much better spot at the top here.
Notice how straight this right leg is gone, opposed to this right leg is still maintaining the flex in it.
Also, another big glaring difference is that when your right leg starts to go very straight.
Even looking at this from a down the line perspective, you'll see a pretty good size window start to open up here between the knees.
To where you could, you know, you could drive a car right through there, it's so big.
Over here we can notice that the window is really kind of closed up.
Now, this has actually limited the amount of rotation that is in his hips.
And in turn, what that's done is he started to feel some load into his glute muscles here.
Okay, so his glutes really started to contract, which in turn, when we restrict the hips and we start to stabilize them.
He started to feel his midsection finally starting to get some really good coil in it.
Now if you notice here he's still making a very very wide turn.
It's a little hard to tell from a down the line perspective, but that was one of the big things.
I wanted to make sure that we didn't lose is making that full turn on a loaded right side.
But now, because he's got his midsection tight and he's got his glutes loaded, you can notice that his hands and his arms have gone to a little bit much, a little bit shorter of a position here, where the club isn't wrapped around his neck.
And obviously we've gone to the lighter end here.
But when we started to put this to use, we were into a much more controlled environment.
And we were able to maintain the speed that he had when he started out the session.
So again, if you've been struggling in your golf swings, with things being a long and out of control and a little bit inconsistent.
I encourage you guys to start to work on loading your trail leg up properly.
Now again, Michael's still a work in progress here, We're going to continue to press on him here, we're going to work on adding some shoulder elevation in here.
And for those of you guys that haven't had the ability to to really get into a good full loaded back swing position.
I want you guys to check out five minutes to a perfect backswing and checkpoints to to a perfect backswing.
These videos will be over to the right hand side of the video player underneath the Recommended Videos tab.
Okay, so make sure you check that out and get to work on building those great looking backswings by making sure that you stabilize your lower body.
And I wish you guys all the best.
Let's play some great golf.
