Bryan submits his 2nd review after working through some of the points Craig made in the previous review. You'll hear his thoughts, see some practice footage and then Craigs full review of his new submission!
All right, Rotary Swing members, time for the next update in the GoCo journey.
In the last episode, we saw Craig's review on my first submission for one-handed putting.
So, you know, made some adjustments to that.
The adjustments that he wanted to see obviously was, you know, not so stiff, not tracking the ball with the eyes, kind of a more free swinging type of swing with the one hand and a little bit, you know, of bend in that elbow to get it supinated, pointing out, you know, basically toward the camera, you know, or toward the sky area, so to speak.
Made those adjustments.
So this video should be fairly quick as we go through some of those.
You can see here the elbow is definitely a little bit more bent there.
It's not as stiff, not as much rocking with the shoulders, a little bit more core engagement with those than in the previous one, kind of letting it, you know, just kind of wrist hinge just a little bit and then going back and through.
Putt's probably about 10, 11 foot somewhere in there.
And as most everybody knows, it's been freezing cold for the last two, three weeks.
So even here in Florida, it's still a little bit chilly today.
But overall, I mean, if you look at this video versus the last video, definitely a good bit of difference in, you know, kind of the posture of the setup, way more free swinging, not as stiff and the eyes are not tracking the ball that they were in the, in the previous video.
So those were the main things that I focused on.
So we'll go ahead and let Craig give his review as I sent clips of kind of what you're watching now into him.
Hello, Brian, Rotary Swing Tour Instructor Craig Morrow here.
Hope all is well today.
I see you're sending in your next review for putting.
Fantastic.
And you've made a lot of great improvement from the last review to this one.
Not really a whole bunch I have to say today.
The swing or the stroke is looking very balanced.
It's looking very free and you deleted a lot of the excess motion that was going on, which I like to see in putting.
I don't want to see a whole lot going on.
I I want to see a nice free swing of that putter without adding any excessive pronation or chasing with the eyes or head, or any kind of movement off the ball.
It's very balanced today.
I do think that the larger grip still has a little tendency to delete some feel because it tends to kind of quiet down the wrist and kind of make everything, to me, feels kind of block heavy.
But other than that, I think you've made some huge improvements on this.
If you look at the face-on stroke, you'll see the trail elbow is in a good position.
The trail hand grip is in a good position.
It's in that stronger position where you really don't have to do any manipulation.
Everything is kind of preset correctly at address.
And then as you go back and through, you'll see you've got a little bit of core engagement to help get the trail arm in hand, just swing back.
And then as we come down, there's just a nice even keel flow to the stroke.
A good release to it, not any excessive rotation.
Looks like you're hitting it just slightly on the upstroke right there so we're not pushing the ball into the ground.
It's one of the things that I've seen a lot of with the trail hand putters is that they start to get a little bit too much excessive shaft.
They start to push the ball into the ground.
But this one right here looks nice and balanced.
I'm really liking the even keel or swing of the putting stroke.
And it's starting to match with what you can see with Chuck over here on the left-hand side of the screen.
Very balanced setup and just a nice even keel stroke back and through where there's not a whole lot of excessive rotation, but getting that clean, compressed roll on the ball.
And that's what I'm seeing out of yours over here.
It looks very clean.
I think that you've done a lot of good work from the last review to this one.
And then when we look at it down the line over here, we're going to see, let me get you wound up.
Get into your setup position.
We're doing well with the eyes, staying just inside the ball right here, trail arm in hand.
Not overly locked, not overly straight, and too much into crazy ulnar deviated position with the wrist.
Just a very nice and balanced.
You look very comfortable here.
And then as we go back and through, you can see just a little bit of a core movement back and then a release of the club coming through tiny bit of push on that one.
It looked like see if we can get one in here, right here, just a nice going back and through.
No, I chase, no head chase.
It's a very balanced stroke.
If we look at that compared to Chuck over here on the left-hand side of the screen, you're going to see the same thing.
There's not a whole lot going on.
Putterhead just having the ability to swing back and through because we're really having that core engaged.
So in my opinion, I think you're doing really well, bud.
I would move on to the next step.
I would start to add the tee drill to this motion to really kind of hyper-focus on how that putter swings back and through.
So that we can really get that centered strike.
But overall, I think that the mechanics are looking really solid.
I think you've got a lot of good going on right here.
I think it's time just to refine it.
I would get your reps in, get in the feel of getting the core, letting this putterhead have a nice free swing back and through without any excessive chase.
And then let's start introducing the tee drill.
So that we can really get that centered strike and get these finer points polished off before we have the lead hand.
So cool.
Nice review.
Good stuff.
He's good with me moving on to the next section, which is fantastic.
Again, these unlimited review groups are awesome because had I not done the previous one, I would have carried on doing it like I was doing because I was making putts doing it that way, even one -handed.
But I want to make sure that I'm doing this right, because it's at the very beginning.
And as we move through and get into the next phases.
Where I put the other hand on the putter.
And then we get into the chipping part of it and on into the full swing.
I just want to make sure everything's right.
I'm putting the time into it, putting the effort into it, putting my money into it.
So, you know, there's no reason to not, you know, make sure that things are right, you know, for the best long-term outcome.
So, cool.
So I'll go ahead and put my, you know, my reps in, the 500 reps.
I kind of like to double everything.
So I'll probably do a thousand.
And then after that, I will start introducing the tee drill with the one-handed.
And then I will do some of that on video and then submit that and get a review on that.
Because why not?
I have the unlimited review.
So I'm going to take full advantage of it.
So cool.
All right.
We'll see you in the next episode.
