Learn how to snap hook the ball around the trees and onto the green.
oh hey everyone I'm rotary swing instructor Chris Tyler I got good news for you today I know a lot of you are probably at home preparing or hunting your turkey and getting ready for that big Thanksgiving feast and I'm actually out here still hunting for eagle believe it or not and on better news I'm going to teach you guys how to hit a controlled snap hook it's a specialty shot of mine because I used to hit it in the trees a lot so let's go ahead and started okay so the first thing that you want to do when you're out there trying to hit a controlled snap hook is you definitely need to turn your hat backwards so that you're in full kamikaze mode I know we've all heard that expression that trees are 90% error we should just try to aim at the tree because we never hit anything that we aim at in the first place but I'm gonna actually show you guys a couple of little tips that I used to use because I grew up in New Hampshire hit the ball in the trees a lot and I learned how to play out of the trees quite a bit believe it or not so what I'm gonna do here and we're going at this flag way out here in the distance might be a little bit hard for you to see at home so I'm gonna turn from a face-on perspective here my focus points are you're gonna see that I stand very narrow now the reason for that is is I'm gonna eliminate a lot of excess body movement here they keep my lower body very still the next thing I'm gonna focus on here is I'm gonna have the ball position quite a bit back in my stance and I'll adjust that according to how much I want the flight of the ball to be down or up for this shot I'm gonna choose about right off my outside part of my right foot okay so right about in line with that right foot okay so I'm gonna go to a very narrow base and then what I'm gonna try and do here is really make that club release very hard so that my toe my club is gonna be facing well to the left when it gets out to about hip high okay so we're gonna keep our eyes still base really narrow ball position back this is gonna help promote a little bit more of an in-to-out path and we're gonna really try to get that club to release and you're gonna see a little bit of a low snap hook here hopefully we'll get it on the green and save par make a birdie here so let's go ahead and take a look ball position back oh I hit a good one there okay there you go so now that you've seen how do I hit my controlled snap hook make sure you turn that hat backwards for kamikaze mode and in all seriousness guys we hope you have a wonderful and a happy Thanksgiving on behalf of the entire rotary swing team
