Bryan Begins Phase 3 of The GOAT Code with his Pitching submission. Some great things here as you'll see in Craigs review! Make Sure You're Getting Your Swing Reviewed Here!
all right rotary swing members here we go into phase three now this is where I think it's going to get a little fun so we finished the putting assessment chipping assessment now we're on to pitching so as you can see here just hitting some pitch shots a couple things to focus on that I'm working on basically is again little forward press to start to start the pitch making sure that the clubface doesn't turn over getting some shaft lean and trying to use my core you have to take it back and take it through so let's see we can't get a one of these in slow motion anyway so a little forward press right there to start it.
You can see my core moving as we come through.
Definite shaft lean at impact.
Face is square there, stays square, staying square.
So that face stays square pretty good a little bit longer follow-through than the necessary I'm sure again kind of like the chipping shot I was kind of making sure that I was exaggerating a couple of these things but overall it's a pretty solid motion I know you can't see the balls in this one but in the next view you will be able to ball flights pretty consistent landings definitely straight in the same area and the rollout is fairly consistent as well so whack one more of these and then we'll move on to the face on view all right so here we go on the face on view you can kind of see my chipping ring out here I'm basically just doing the setup to where the like the assessment test is going to be I see no reason not to practice what you're going to be tested on so to speak So I've got that set up first ring is over here second ring is is over there Kind of the same thing.
You're just focusing on taking it back with the core Trying to make sure they a little forward press to start out with and that the clubface is square going through We'll run one of these in slow motion here as well You can see I'm still playing with my grip right there trying to make sure that I get it right in the fingers So there's that little forward press you can kind of see it happening there You can kind of see it in my legs and in my in my waist as well as my arms You can see the core is kind of already turning back clubface is pretty much exactly where my spine angle is if I had some wrist hinge in that you know it would go right up through the forearm so pretty good position there there's a little bit of wrist hinge you can see where the clubface would go or club head anyway and you can just a tiny bit like right there where it doesn't really supinate but I mean this is such a short shot I'm not sure you can get much out of it but just a tiny little bit where it doesn't supinate it just kind of we're talking millimeters here as it goes down still in a good position though you can definitely see i like to look where the ball is going to go there's no ifs ands or buts about that i did it in putting i did it in chipping and i'm doing it here so that that's definitely something i've got to pay more attention to because clearly that seeps into into all parts but contact is good pretty much right in the middle the face you can see that clubface is still not rolling over core is turned through not gonna argue with it looks pretty solid to me ball flights good you can see that one landed in the in the ring can't really see where the balls are going over there but it stops there so that's one inside the ring we'll run one more here normal speed so that one was obviously short but it was online and still ran into the ring so not what we're going for but I'm not going to argue with the result you know the distance the distance of dialing it in will come I'm more concerned with it being online and that one there landed right in there and it's going to roll up into that ring there so overall not bad so let's see what uh craig's got to say poppy up over here on the left hand side from the down line when we look at the backstroke right here as you take the club back right here there's a lot of good things you can see that that club face we're not rolling it to the inside we're not actually adding more pronation which i've seen a lot of that lately this is a very balanced club face position with your spine angle right here and if the club were to set from here it'd be working right up that trail form which that's what we're looking for in a pitching motion so I really like that right there as we start to come down very balanced into the strike a lot of good with the stroke coming down when we look at the second one right here as you start to go back this will be where I get a little pet peevish but i know you're very particular about your move i like that you see how this motion right here see how it just gets just a tiny bit of steepening right there gets a tiny bit of push on it where it almost gets that counterclockwise motion to it now as we start getting into pitching and longer swings supination is going to become a very big topic in a pitch you can have or we'd rather you have a little bit of supination or a little bit of axiom clockwise motion in that transition you'll see right here you get just a little bit pushy on it just a little bit right there and i think that when we go over here to the face on you'll kind of see where that starts a little bit.
But for the most part, I think there's a lot of good in this.
Starts to go up.
It's very balanced.
I love how that club's staying out in front right there.
If we compare it to Chuck's right here, you can see on his motion with it being just a little bit longer.
As Chuck starts to work up, you'll see how it sets up that trail forearm right there.
Yours is just a little bit shorter, just a little bit different length of shot.
But you can see how it just sets right up that trail forearm I really like that okay but let's talk about the face on when we look at the face on I'm gonna mark right here so we've got our shaft right here we've got our lead hand right here get a little bit of forward press so you get a little bit of start a little bit of forward press right there making the backstroke and as you come down you can see you get a lot of lean right there getting the chance for some good compression but my problem with your face on which good kind of goes back to your chipping videos where i wanted you to have that kind of trigger to start the swing to kind of get that fascial stretch going what's my problem with your face on you look a little landlocked and I think that's a little bit of where that counterclockwise motions coming in the down the line version is you look a little landlocked you've got to have some flow you got to have some rhythm you got to move a little bit it looks very robotic to me this one had a little bit more just a little bit but you need to allow the swinging of this to be moved or the club to be moved by your core but you need to allow your body to react a little bit it needs to help you out and it know it sounds silly but you really do get a lot of feel from your feet your knees your hips the kind of the rhythm to the swing it gives you a lot more feedback than you would think if you watch stop that one right there if you watch Chuck over here on the left-hand side of the screen I'm gonna wind it back but just kind of put a line over here on his lead hip or lead thigh you're gonna see a little bit of fascial stretch to kind of start right there so a little bit into the lead side a little bit with the hands but you see how he's not so landlocked you see how he's moving laterally right there he's moving into the lead side and that little bit of leading with the body into that lead side that's what's getting them to that ultimate kind of fundamentals of compression video which is going to be your set home okay it's not that you're not getting forward shaft lane i just want you to move a little bit let me take you back over to here if you look at this position right here and let me take chuck to the same position what do you see different right here what do you see different now with your shorts you know being a little bit on the longer side it's a little bit tough to see look at the right knee look at the right leg your right knee starts to come out a little bit do you see how his right leg's kind of following that extra lateral motion he had to that lead side neck kind of a little bit of a dance with that lower half you see how kind of landlocked you look right now that's the only thing that's really bothering me i think you know structurally it looks really good but i think because of this landlock is some of the reason why you're wanting to add some of that trail side push right there where it gets a little bit counterclockwise in that transition i need you to move just a little bit it'll create a sense of rhythm it'll help you feel just a little bit more ability to add some supination but it not feel so manual to me as you start to add that lateral motion it makes it more natural to feel the supination and the transition and that's the only thing that you're really missing Chuck will talk to you about having the forward shaft lead and getting into position in that fundamentals of compression video but those are the only two things I really wanted you to do right now have the little bit of fascial stretch just push a little bit into the lead allow it to work back it's going to set up that trail form clubface looks really good i want you to move a little bit i want you to move a little bit i want you to have a little bit of kind of lateral motion it kind of stays a little landlocked a little static right there you've got great feel with your trail arm at hand from the chipping video i want you to move a little bit just a little bit and i think it'll take some pressure off of you, of having to be so precise.
They can allow you to feel it a little bit easier, allow the swing to come to you a little bit more as a byproduct.
But other than that, I think it looks fantastic, bud.
You got a lot of good with this.
Focus on getting a nice clean setup, ball position, all the fun stuff you've been doing.
Let's have some core back, letting it set up that trail form let's try to allow for just a tiny bit of clockwise a tiny bit of kind of axiom feeling there and then let yourself move into this lead side let that motion help you get to that forward shaft lean position um so you just don't look so landlocked and having to just kind of guide it out if that makes sense all right my friend let's do that and i think you're going to to be ready to rock and roll all right so there you have it craig's review uh pretty much what i thought really you know not a whole lot of not a whole lot of stuff that that that's off um probably do another one with some some more wrist hinge in it just so we can take a look at that i'll try to add a little bit of supination in there most likely what i'm going to have to do is kind of over exaggerate that field just so I can make sure that I get it um got to work on the head thing but other than that overall I'm pretty pleased with the positions that are there the contact with the ball as well as the results so do a little bit of practicing on some of those things Craig just talked about and we will run another video
