Your powerful and consistent new golf swing is almost complete, just one last step!
all right are you ready for the final step to put your entire golf swing together all we need to do now the only missing link is the trailing arm for many of you it's going to be your right arm your right arm adds speed to the swing it helps transfer energy from the big muscles and it also helps release speed in a similar way that you would with throwing a ball the motion is very similar the lead arm is for control that's what we need to learn first adding speed will be a piece of cake once you know where the ball is going to go so what do we do to get into this position at the top where we start adding the right arm so what I want you to do at first is focus again on just getting to the top and swinging your arm up here and bringing the right arm up to support the left your elbow shouldn't be way out here it's just coming up because the club feels kind of heavy with your left arm only as you bring the right arm up to support it you'll feel how the elbow sits underneath the club shaft instead of sticking way out here like it does for so many people you can see how that gets the club in a bad position at the top so you just turn your body bring the right arm to support it and from here nothing changes you're going to squat to square post up and now you can see that you're in a great position to then release the club and let it go with a lot of effortless speed same thing from face on I'm going to turn to the top bring my right arm up to support the club squat to square post up release that's the entire golf swing all you're going to do to get all of these pieces together and start hitting balls great is just taking out these little pauses that we've put in here so let's see if we can do it all together just like that so I just blended those body motions but the focus is still on moving my body correctly the club and arms are irrelevant for the most part I'm focusing on getting my body to move correctly and then the club's going to go where it's supposed to on its own so as you start getting comfortable with this you can start putting your right hand on the club at setup and swing to the top and check on video or have your coach check or look in the mirror and make sure that your arm is still going up to the right spot squat to square post up and release once you have that you're ready to start hitting balls better than you ever have before
