The core muscles are crucial in golf. Stir the Pot is a great exercise to strengthen your core for longer drives!
- Strengthen your core for more power in your golf swing
- Exercise with control and precision to create muscle awareness
Hi, my name is Anthony Young, Rotary Swing Fitness Instructor, And today I'm going to show you a great exercise to really strengthen your core so you can blast your drives and play better golf.
This exercise is called Stir the Pot.
I have here Lauren, and she's going to demonstrate this exercise.
You're going to start with stability ball, and then you're going to get into a plank position on the stability ball.
So Lauren will go ahead and get into a plank.
Good.
So she has a nice straight body from head to toe.
Her glutes are squeezed, her core is tight, and her shoulders are pulled back.
From this position, she's going to take her arms and stir them one way, keeping her upper body very still, and again, her core very tight.
I'm going to do a couple circles one way, stop, and then do a couple circles the other Just like that, core tight, not letting your lower back sag.
Go ahead and rest.
And that is the Stir the Pot exercise.
Do 10 reps one way, 10 reps the other way, and give that a shot.
See if it helps your golf game.
